Moses's Heart: How to Be a Prophet - Ex.5.1-11

As an elaboration on last week's "Exodus-Shaped" sermon (entitled "Who is the LORD?"), we're exploring why the stories we tell about God matter. It becomes apparent as we read through Exodus that Moses's revelation of God is more revolutionary than we realized - this monotheistic, relational view of God was heretofore unknown, which explains Moses's two speeches in Exodus 5.1 and 3. What sort of living comes as a result of this view of God? Simply put, Who God Is is inextricably related to Who We Are. As we look at the Aztec and Indian cultures, we act out the stories of our faith. Let's get the story right. And let's move forward in life as the prophet Moses - but how?
