If you own a Bible, you are abundantly blessed—about one-third of the world’s population does not have access to one.
If you wake up each morning with more health than illness, you are blessed to rise and shine, to live and serve in a new day.
If you can freely attend worship without fear, then you are more blessed than over one third of the world.
If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, all at the same time, you are rich in this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, or some spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the world’s wealthy.
If you can read this message, you are more blessed than about one third of the world, who cannot read at all.
If you have never had to endure the hardship and agony of battle, imprisonment or torture, you are blessed in indescribable nature.
If you have a voice to sing His praises, a voice to witness God’s love, and a voice to share the gospel, you are blessed.
If you can share a word of encouragement with someone else, and do it with love in your heart, you are blessed because you have learned how to give.
If you hold up your head with a smile on your face, and are truly thankful, you are blessed because most people can, but many will not.
If you have anyone on this planet, just one person that loves you and listens to you, count this a blessing.
If you pray today or any day, you are blessed, because you believe in God’s promise to hear your prayer.
If you pray for someone else, you are blessed, because you want to help others.
If you can go to bed each night, knowing that God loves you, you are blessed beyond measure!

When we really take time out and think about it, it should not take long to realize that God has blessed each one of us infinitely! We must guard against getting so caught up in life that we forget to be thankful for everything God has given us. Salvation; family; good homes; and financial success are all things we can take for granted. We have a unique insight into the attitude of some Bible writers as they praised God for their blessings! Let us do the same! Here are just a few Scriptures:
Col. 3:15-17—Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
1 Tim. 1:12—I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service,…
Psa. 28:7—The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him.
Let’s count our many blessings and continue to faithfully serve God to the best our ability!
